Life Through A Lens

Annie Leibovitz

“When I take a picture I take 10 percent of what I see.” – Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is one of the greatest and most well known photographers alive. She saw potential in everything and her pictures in itself tell a story. Annie’s works can be a great inspiration for teaching students to see potential in the world around them. It could be a great introduction for a mini unit on photography. Upon introducing Annie Leibovitz’s works, students can be encouraged to take pictures in a classroom or a park. In small groups, they can create a scene and take a couple of pictures.
