  1. A work that you consider a good metaphor for who I am- This work represents me because of what I am motivated by, which is to help other people. I want to be a place where people can lean on me for support and comfort. But at the same time, I’m also fragile and human. I get tired too, and you can see it because I’m an open book since I wear my heart on my sleeves. I always say what I am feeling, just like how you can see everything inside the chair with the flowers. But it also means that I might need some time by myself to re-discover/re-connect with myself since I share too much sometimes and end up losing my identity. I need things and time to myself so that I can process my feelings so that I’m better able to give and help others. 20160131_16431420160131_164328
  2.   This is a work that I only like a part of because I only like the pattern. I wouldn’t like this artwork as a furniture because I think it would be very difficult for me to coordinate it with other furniture and home decor. It attracts too much attention on it’s own, but maybe this pattern would be very cool as a print for a backpack, a scarf, or socks. 20160131_16580820160131_165801
  3. Didactic Panel explaining a mosque in Egypt. I want to visit Egypt one day because it’s a place outside of my comfort zone but also because I want to visit the pyramids and experience the desert in Africa- a new continent, before I die. I think it’s important to experience as many cultures as I can just so I can open my mind more to diversity and novelty. It helps me develop as a thinker and as a person in general.

4.   I love this work because it takes a functional object like a chair and adds an unexpected element to it. I love how it pairs functionality with design in this artwork. The minimalistic wood with smooth curved lines.. and how ergonomic it is! Because the design is created extending upwards instead of horizontally, which saves space. I would consider making a design that adds a creative element but doesn’t take away from the practicality of something.

I think this work is trying convey the negative side of human beings being trapped in religion, perhaps the artist views it as negative when human beings sell their soul and lives for religious purposes. This is an artwork that evokes feelings of fear and cruelty.
